Cardio is a short term for cardiovascular. Cardiovascular relates to the heart and blood vessels. Cardiovascular is also in charge to carry nutrients and oxygen to the tissues of the body and removes carbon dioxide from the body. This is why is important to exercise the heart. If you didn't know, the heart is a muscle and it needs to be exercised like any other body muscle. If you don't work out this muscle, you have the risk to get a heart disease. You can exercised the heart by just doing activities that includes movement, what makes the heart beat faster.
Some activities that help your heart are swimming, cycling and running. Just by joining a sport or doing something simple you might do in a daily bases like running is helping you to prevent diseases. This does not only helps you to prevent diseases but also helps you to be healthier and carries nutrients faster. It also helps to lose weight because all the movement you are doing while you're exercising.
In order to keep a healthy life you need to exercise for at least three days a week for 20 minutes. Always remember to warm up for 5 minutes before doing any activity. Some activities that I do in my physical education class are run, swim and play basketball. This helps me a lot and to keep my heart healthy I'm going to keep exercising and doing different activities during the summer.
